My First Birch Box - September 2014

Hello everyone,
So i have wanted to try a  beauty box subscription for a while now but with there being so many different options to choose from out there i didn't know which one to choose! but the other week a email popped up in my inbox form Birch Box, which said that they had a special deal if you joined that day or something and as soon as i saw the words 'guaranteed Beauty Blender inside' i knew i had to give this box a try.
So the theme of this months box was Happy Days and came in a lovely box a drawstring bag and come cute photos of people on their 'Happy Days'! it was like opening a present at Christmas! plus i have started using the box to separate my makeup collection.
This box costs £10 a month + £2.95 here

So what was included?...

Beauty Blender + Solid Cleanser (£26)-
Now like i said this is was the main reason that i signed up for the box as i have wanted to try the Beauty Blender but i could not part with the high price tag for a makeup sponge that i didn't know if i would like or not! BirchBox even included the solid cleanser to clean the sponge with which usually has a combined price of £26 so this box is a bargain! I have since used the product and really like the way it applied my foundation, but I'm still testing it out.

ModelCo Power Lash Mascara (£24)-
I was also very happy finding a mascara sample in the box as i love trying out new mascaras and since receiving the box i have tested out the mascara and i loved the way it looked on the lashes! Once again i am going to continue to test of the product to get a better idea of it.

Premae Mild Dermabrasion Face & Body Scrub (£25) -
The box also included a small pot of face and body scrub which i may possibly save if i stay overnight somewhere or as part of my skincare routine as it is only a small pot but a good enough size to test the product.

Benefit It's Potenti Eye Cream (£25.50)- I
have wanted to try some of Benefits skincare range for a while now so it was great to see a small sample of their eye cream inside the box! the sample packaging is very cute and i am looking forward to testing this product out!.

Agave Healing Oil Treatment (From £16)-
I really like receiving hair oils as i have been looking for the right one for my hair because at the minute my hair is a bit dry and needs some TLC, i actually tried this product once and after blowdrying my hair it felt lovely, soft and shiny! So i shall have to continue using up the sample and hopefully it could really help my hair!

Urban Fruit Perfect Pineapple (£13.20 for 6)-
Something a bit different for a beauty box was a dried fruit snack, well i suppose beauty starts from the inside! usually I'm not a big fan of dried fruit but i actually didn't mind the taste of the dried pineapple which is funny because I'm not too keen on fresh pineapple! and its great that they are 100% fruit!

BirchBox Happy Days Photo Clip-
And finally Birchbox included their very own little photo clip, which is actually a real cool idea and i have already put it to use and is holding one of my pictures!

Have you tried any beauty boxes?
If so .which ones should i try next?

The Body Shops- Wild Argan Oil Solid Lip Balm

Hello lovely's,
by now I'm sure a lot of you would have seen The Body Shops new Wild Argan Oil range, i first came across after watching Fleur De Force's video where she went to Morocco where the Argan Oil is produced and i was able what the BodyShop do for those making the products. So when i went into my local Body Shop i decided to pick something up from the range so i decided to go for the Solid Oil lip balm as i had heard some great reviews about this product.

So what do i think?

I tested a bit of the lip balm when i was in the store and instantly loved it and when i bought it home with me i was not disappointed! The solid oil starts to melt when it comes in contact with you finger and when you apply it to your lips to glides on smoothly and leaves them feeling so soft! and it also has a lovely smell which isn't too over powering.

So i would defiantly recommend picking one up for yourself as it is quite the bargain at £4 in comparison to some higher end lip treatments, and can be found here where you can also watch Fleur's vlog in Morocco. There are some lovely products within the range that i really want to try like the body scrub and the miracle solid oil.

*Student Discount! The Body Shop don't offer student discount but they do give students a free membership card which allows you to get 10% each shop plus lots of extra deals throughout the year including a free gift when its your birthday! So its worth going into your local store and talk to them about signing up*

ThankYou for reading &
let me know if you have tried anything from
the range and what you think

Concrete Jungle! (My NYC Experience)

Hi everyone, if you have read some of my other posts you may have seen that i was lucky enough this summer to visit New York for a few days after my trip to Orlando.New York is somewhere i have always wanted to go, and being in love with dance and after seeing the city in so many amazing film it was defiantly at the top of my bucket list of places to visit.
So we arrived in New York on a sunday, and to be honest as first impressions go we didn't really get the best experience on our 1st day. We got a taxi from the airport and we didn't know if we would make it to the hotel as we had a taxi driver who didn't really like to follow basic driving rules (like actually driving on the road), but we did arrive at our hotel in one piece and another story to tell when we got home.We weren't really impressed by our hotel rooms as they were very small but in the end it wasn't a big deal as we were hardly in them and the hotel was right next to time square so we couldn't have asked for a better location. As we were all starving we jut went to one of the first little pubs that we found and lets just say i was still hungry after as i didn't really touch mine, but after a quick look around Times Square we decided to have a early night so we could be up fresh and early in the morning.
Whilst in New York we had a list of things that we wanted to do and we tried to fit as much as we could in the few days we had there. One of my favorite parts of the trip was walking round Central Park, it was just so relaxing and the sun was beaming, we even came across a couple getting wedding pictures taken, we were not too sure if this was a genuine couple or models for a magazine but the bride looked stunning and they made a cute couple! We also had a lovely lunch in a restaurant which i believed was called the Boat House, we did want to go to Shake Shack but did not come across it. We also payed a visit to the Central Park Zoo which was nice to look around but personally didn't think it was too interesting.
Other attractions that we visited included The Rockafella Centre and went up to the top, the view was unbelievable and i think was defiantly worth the money. We also went on the Free Ferry to Staten Island to see the Statue Of Liberty, which again was lovely to see. We also paid a visit to the Natural History Museum and to be honest it wasn't my cup of tea but i did like the big Dinosaur as it reminded me of Night Of The Museum.  And of course this City is well know for SHOPPING!which of course i took advantage of! but i was still able to find some great bargains!
New York is also know for their amazing food, i believe i had pancakes every day for breakfast, my favorite breakfast was at a little restaurant Brasserie Athenee, i mean who could resist pancakes with fruit and Nutella!. As recommend we also check out the StarDust Diner which is were out of work singers and dancers who want to be on Broadway work, the diner has a create atmosphere as almost all of the waiters are singers and sing live in front of you, i was very happy to hear them sing 'Love Is An Open Door' from Frozen!. And of course a trip to New York would not have been complete without a trip to Serendipity!who needs dinner when you can have dessert! as recommend i had the Frozen Hot Chocolate which was amazing but so big! I don't think any of us were able to defeat any of the humongous desserts! If you are thinking of going there i would defiantly recommend booking in advance as we had just over an hour wait but wasn't too bad with Bloomingdale's just round the corner!
And of course top of our list of places to visit was the World Trade Centre memorial site and garden, whilst the entire area was very emotional it was also a very peaceful area as people could come here and just forget about the busy city and remember those who wear lost in the 911 disaster in 2001. It is beautiful what has been created and i think it is a lovely way to remember those who were lost and really makes you appreciate what you have because you see documentaries about 911 but until you are standing were it happens you cant start to understand what the people of New York went though that day.

So i hope you enjoyed hearing some of what i got up to whilst in New York, i would love to go back again some day and if you have any questions or your own New York experience please do leave a comment down below!
